Growing the Table Provides Free, Organic Produce to People Experiencing Homelessness

Food insecurity in Santa Cruz is underpinned by the fact that the region suffers from some of the highest rates of individuals experiencing homelessness in California. Growing the Table partners, the Homeless Garden Project and the Homeless Person’s Health Project, bring fresh, organic produce to recently housed individuals like Adrella and Yolanda. They told us they appreciate the quality and tastiness of produce grown nearby at the Homeless Garden Project and are inspired to adopt more healthy eating habits.
