Kat Taylor Named Jefferson Award Winner

Kat Taylor was named a Jefferson Award winner for her efforts to help small-scale Black, Brown and Indigenous organic farmers feed communities in need during the pandemic.
Thank you to the network of farmers, community nonprofits, individual donors, and foundations for coming together to feed hundreds of thousands of struggling families with delicious, nutritious produce. We are grateful for your tireless efforts and commitment to cultivating a more equitable and resilient California food system.
Growing the Table is a statewide philanthropic initiative that administers regional food aid programs, purchasing culturally relevant produce from small, Black, Indigenous and Brown, women-owned, and regenerative farming practitioners for isolated, under-served communities throughout California. By the end of this year, Growing the  Table’s 18 regional programs will have procured more than 850,000lbs of produce and 46,600 freshly prepared meals.
